I also found out that Group 5 Motorsports get the machine work done for their customers at Hopsings...

Thanks for all the info GoFer, I'm gonna try to scam outta work early one day this week and drop off my experimental head at either Advance or Hopsing.
I'll up this thread with pics right now... Here is my spare motor that i picked up just for smog.  Started teardown of the motor and found this...  Bought an engine stand  Even more teardown pics...         Went crazy and bought a valve spring compressor from Craftsman ($20) and went to town on the valves.    Bought a spare head from Crazed here on SDREV, didn't like the valve cover paint job so i did this...   Painted my original valve cover from the spare motor...

Nice. im trying to find a damn beater car so i can tear my motor apart and rebuild as well. Hopsings is right down the street from me. i may check it out as well...

I just got everything back from the machine shop (Advanced Machine) and I'll post up pics tomorrow. Everything looks pretty good so far, I'll give you the details in the morning.

Machined stuff
Here are the machined parts I got back from Advanced Machining.
Micropolished crank and hot tanked= $20  D16Z6 head, hot tanked, decked, new valve seals, 3 angle valve job, assembled= $155   D16Z6 block, honed, decked and hot tanked, $70
